Blue Diamond Contracting was founded in late 2017 by the company's namesake, Diamond Colburn.

Starting as a hotshot trucker based out of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Colburn quickly identified the growing need for a reliable, full-service transportation and construction contracting company in the emerging market of San Andreas. Armed with determination, a single truck, and a vision for something bigger, she planted the seeds of what would become a cornerstone of the state's economic success.

By early 2018, Blue Diamond Contracting had already begun making a major impact. The company's early projects helped fuel the explosive statewide growth seen across San Andreas in 2018 and 2019, contributing heavily to public infrastructure, private development, and critical logistics. Through hard work and an unrelenting focus on quality, BDC quickly earned a reputation for delivering big results with even bigger reliability.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in 2020, many companies struggled — but Blue Diamond Contracting rose to the challenge.

BDC was one of just three construction companies authorized to continue operations during the state lockdowns and economic turmoil.

Thanks to its resilient leadership, innovative safety measures, and essential services designation, the company not only survived — it thrived, growing its workforce, expanding its fleet, and doubling down on its commitment to building a stronger San Andreas.

In recognition of its outstanding contributions to economic development and community resilience, Blue Diamond Contracting was awarded the prestigious San Andreas Business and Economic Development Billy Crystal Award.

This award, named after Billy Crystal, honors the legacy of the 19th-century industrialist who pioneered the state's early economic boom through his mining, rail, and manufacturing ventures in the 1800s. Billy Crystal’s spirit of innovation, hard work, and relentless optimism lives on in every recipient — and today, Blue Diamond Contracting proudly carries that torch.
